A man allegedly got up to 90 COVID-19 vaccination shots allegedly so that he could sell the vaccination cards.
A 60-year-old man from Magdeburg, Germany, has been arrested and is now under investigation for unauthorized issuance of vaccination cards and document forgery after getting up to 90 COVID-19 shots to sell them to others, German news agency DPA reports.
The man, who has not been publicly named due to German privacy rules, hit up several vaccination centers in Saxony’s eastern state, pulling his scheme until police caught him last month. His plot went on for several months, CBS News reports. Police arrested him after he showed up for a Coronavirus vaccine for the second day in a row. Authorities ended up confiscating a slew of blank vaccination cards from the man.
The man reportedly received different vaccination shots from different brands; there are currently no details on how the vaccines may have affected him.
There are currently 21.7 million COVID-19 cases in Germany, and numbers are rising. There are 74,053 new COVID-19 cases reported in the country in just one day, CBS News reports. Germans and visitors no longer have to wear masks in shops, restaurants and schools.
