Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to abuse minors, has sent a message that immediately reignited the Epstein files political firestorm. During a virtual deposition before the House Oversight Committee on Monday, her attorney said Maxwell is willing to clear Donald Trump of any wrongdoing related to Epstein if she is granted clemency.
The statement was delivered publicly during the deposition and later shared online by her lawyer, David Oscar Markus.
“Ms. Maxwell is prepared to speak fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump,” Markus said. “Only she can provide the complete account. Some may not like what they hear, but the truth matters. For example, both President Trump and President Clinton are innocent of any wrongdoing.”
Markus added, “Ms. Maxwell alone can explain why, and the public is entitled to that explanation.”
The offer landed as members of Congress gained access to unredacted Epstein files at the Department of Justice, keeping the long-running scandal front and center. Trump has not ruled out a pardon or commutation for Maxwell, though no decision has been announced.
Despite the headline-making pitch, Maxwell invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during the deposition. House Oversight Chair James Comer called that move “very disappointing,” saying lawmakers had extensive questions about “the crime she and Epstein committed, as well as questions about potential co-conspiracy.”
Democrats pushed back hard. Rep. Melanie Stansbury accused Maxwell of trying to leverage silence for freedom, saying, “We will not allow this silence to stand.”
Survivors of Epstein’s abuse also warned lawmakers to treat any potential cooperation with caution. In a letter entered into the record, they urged the committee to prioritize “truth, accountability, and transparency” and not allow the process to become “the rehabilitation of a convicted trafficker’s narrative.”
As Congress presses forward and Trump weighs his options, the Epstein saga shows no signs of cooling off, only shifting into its next volatile chapter.

In other words she can come up with some good lies explaining his mention 30,000 times if trump pardons her from her well deserved incarceration. LOL She better count her blessings that she is still alive
