A woman from New Hampshire is outraged after discovering the gifts she had packed for loved ones in her checked luggage on her return flight from Europe had been replaced by other items that weren’t hers.
Gina Sheldon had packed a bag full of presents she had bought over her 11 day trip to Italy. She then flew home on a Delta flight operating through Air France, and when she opened her suitcase when she arrived back home, it was full of bags of dog food, trash, a can of men’s shaving cream, and dirty clothes.
“It was incredible. My first reaction was, wait, I took someone else’s bag,” Sheldon said.
Sheldon said she spent hours trying to get through to Delta but couldn’t get an answer. She ended up contacting NBC10 Boston, who were able to get answers from the airline. In a statement to the news, Delta said they were working with Sheldon to make it right.
“We apologize for this customer’s experience following Air France flight 334. We have affirmatively connected with our partners at Air France and the customer to find a resolution,” Delta said in a statement.
A representative from the airline also contacted Sheldon to help walk her through submitting a claim for her stolen belongings.
