If Justin Timberlake did indeed put on a blaccent to speak with Ginuwine, the “So Anxious” star doesn’t quite remember it.
In case you forgot, Britney Spears claimed her famous ex-boyfriend put on his best Black voice when interacting with an R&B singer. She made the hilarious accusation in her memoir, “The Woman In Me.” However, after Ginuwine’s appearance on “The Masked Singer,” he spoke with People, where he admitted to not recalling the incident, which took place two decades ago.
“Yeah, yeah, I definitely heard about it. People were calling about that. But I can tell you I don’t remember that happening. I truly don’t remember that happening,” Ginuwine admitted.
Spears recalled the incident clearly and wrote that it occurred in New York. According to her, Timberlake and his group NSYNC “were white boys, but they loved hip-hop.” Spears feels that this led to her boy band boo shouting, “Ah, yeah! Fo’ shiz, fo’ shiz! Ginuwine! What’s up, homie?” when they bumped into the Grammy Award-winning singer. However, Ginuwine feels such a hilarious comment would certainly be unforgettable.
“If Justin would’ve did something like that, I probably would’ve looked at him like, ‘Why are you acting like that?’ If he did that, that would be something that I would remember. That would’ve definitely stuck out,” the 53-year-old said.
I guess the world may never know the truth about the blaccent moment in pop culture history.
