Even though Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen seemingly had a perfect marriage, the model is in a happier chapter post-divorce.
This week, a clip for her upcoming interview with CBS News Sunday Morning surfaced, and Bundchen is opening up about her marriage to the NFL star. The two were together for 16 years and were married for 13 when their divorce was finalized in 2022. Bundchen says she felt that even though she wanted her marriage to work, she was merely “surviving” with Brady, and now, as a single woman, she is “living, which is different.”
Bundchen was one of the fashion industry’s top models when she began dating Brady. She has graced the covers of Vanity Fair, Vogue, Bazaar, and Elle, to name a few. However, once she settled into family life with Brady, Bundchen took a step back from the modeling world. While Bundchen seemed willing to put her career on hold, sources reported that Brady’s refusal to retire impacted the couple. He announced his retirement in 2022 before quickly withdrawing his decision. This was rumored to be a major pitfall for the relationship. He has since retired from football for good. It’s unclear if the now 43-year-old mom will discuss this in the interview’s entirety, but in the clip, she did admit to host Lee Cowan that she was struggling at times in the relationship and even considered “jumping” from a window of her ninth-floor home.
Even though Bundchen says she and Brady grew apart with time, she still wishes him the best. The full interview is set to air on Sunday, September 24th, on CBS and Paramount+.
