An artist is suing Glorilla and her producer Macaroni Toni for sampling his nearly 30-year-old track to create their hit song ‘Tomorrow‘ without consent.
Ivory Paynes of the NOLA-based rap group Dog House Posse says in documents acquired by TMZ that Glo and Toni heavily sampled his 1994 song “Street of the Westbank” for “Tomorrow,” including beats from the drum, piano, and cello.
The lawsuit also names Glo’s record label Collective Music Group, as well as her publishing houses Warner Chappell Music and Sony/ATV Music.
Also listed in the lawsuit was the remix of her song “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B because the song used the same instrumental.
According to reports, Cardi is not listed as a defendant in the case.
