Glory Johnson Says Brittney Griner Chose Blonde, Blue Eyed Sperm Donor For Their Twins

Glory Johnson gave birth to she and her estrange wife Brittney Griner’s twins some time ago but now she’s opening up to Cosmopolitan Magazine about their relationship. In the magazine she discusses not being lesbian, her engagement to Griner, the fight and the father of she and Griner’s twin daughters. 

Glory says that she and Griner met at a basketball camp in Las Vegas in 2013.  She said that Griner would make excuses to be around her and that one night, while at Cirque de Soleil, Griner put her arm around her. Johnson had never thought of a woman in that way before but that night, with the alcohol flowing, she went with it. “I wasn’t thinking about her being a female. She was just somebody who was showing me a really, really good time,” said Johnson. The drinks continued to flow and needless to say, later that night Glory had her first sexual encounter with a woman. They treated it as a one night stand until the two reconnected again after a game in Tulsa. The two spent the night together again and even missed their flight’s the next morning. By 2014 they had become a couple. 

The couple got engaged in August 2014. Johnson admits that she was not ready and even locked herself in the bathroom. “What am I going to say, no? All the cameras are in my face.” Her friends, concerned, pounded on the bathroom door, telling her she didn’t have to say yes. Still, she says, “I was happy at the same time. It was something that I wanted.”

She goes on to discuss that the WNBA offseason led her to Russia and Griner to China. She eventually went to join Griner in China but when she found out Griner had been texting an ex, they argued so she packed her things and left. They eventually got over it, however, and decided to start over by purchasing a home together and starting a family. The two decided Johnson would undergo  in-vitro fertilization and according to Johnson, Griner selected the sperm donor —  a blond, blue-eyed man. 

In April 2015, as we all know, one of their arguments become explosive and led to the two being arrested on domestic violence charges. It didn’t stop them from May, then inevitably announcing their separation 28 days later.  

From the looks of things, these two had no business getting together in the first place. They both have expressed how they were not ready for such a major step and they did the most drastic thing ever by having children. You can read the entire interview HERE.
