It’s official, the St. Louis Rams are no more. From here on out, they will be the Los Angeles Rams. On Tuesday night, NFL owners voted 30 to 2 in favor of allowing the Rams to relocate to Los Angeles beginning in the 2016 season. The Rams are no stranger to the city of Los Angeles as they were the city’s home team from 1946 to 1994. After the 1994 season, the Rams moved to St. Louis but now it’s time to return to their west coast home once again.
The Rams will eventually play at a stadium which will be located at the old Hollywood Park racetrack in Inglewood. The stadium, which is currently still under construction, will be the NFL’s largest when it opens in 2019.
This will be the first time in 21 years that an NFL team is located in Los Angeles. And at the end of next season, the San Diego Chargers could potentially be joining the Rams there as well.
