Republican Senator James Inhofe said he’d never seen VP Mike Pence as angry as he was after Donald Trump called on him to block the certification of the 2020 presidential results in Congress.
According to The Hill, Trump put his Vice President in a precarious situation by repeatedly and publicly demanding he block the election results.
Pence issued a letter to lawmakers on Wednesday which confirmed that he did not believe he had the “unilateral authority” to reject electoral votes in the already decided election race for the White House.
Before yesterday’s riots, Senator Inhofe (from Oklahoma) spoke with Tulsa World, and revealed that he’s “known Mike Pence forever” and said he’s “never seen Pence as angry as he was today.”
“I had a long conversation with him,” Inhofe told the media outlet. “He said, ‘After all the things I’ve done for [Trump].’ ”
While Ihofe’s revelation happened before the Pro-Trump mob terrorized the Capitol. He also told Tulsa World on Wednesday that he felt Trump “should have shown more disdain for the rioters” who swarmed the building calling on lawmakers not to certify the election results.
