Gospel artist Angela “Myammee” Pitts says she is interested in doing a record with Sexyy Red.
You may remember Pitts from “Flavor of Love” season three and winner of VH1’s “I Love Money” season two. In the years since her reality television run, Pitts has shifted her focus to gospel music, specifically religion-based rap. Days ago, she sat down with “Perspektives with Banks,” where host Big Banks asked her if she would collab with Big Sexyy, to which she surprisingly obliged under one stipulation.
“We gotta have a message,” she explained. “I want her to be herself, but I would wanna pull out a side of her that she has not shown yet that is probably there. She don’t have to be strictly into the word…do it in her way and talk about her journey, her faith.”
While this request doesn’t appear to have hit Sexyy’s desk just yet, rappers crossing over to worship music is not a foreign concept. Kirk Franklin has collaborated with Lil Baby in the past, while Tasha Cobbs Leonard has worked with Nicki Minaj. Therefore, anything is possible. However, given Sexyy’s mostly adult-themed lyrics, a step into the spiritual lane may be interesting, to say the least. One way to possibly execute this is by giving some of Sexyy’s biggest hits a gospel remix and possibly incorporating other stars within the genre. Here is how this could look if Sexyy takes Pitts up on her offer.
Album name: “Ghetto Princesses for God”
“Get It Sexyy” remixed to “Get It Godly” featuring Shirley Caesar
“Looking for the Hoes” remixed to “Looking for JeHOvah” featuring CeCe Winans
“Pound Town” remixed to “Praise Town” featuring Yolanda Adams
“Shake Yo Dreads” remixed to “Shake Yo Dreads in the Sanctuary” featuring Tamela Mann
Sexyy is currently on tour with Kodak Black, so it’s unlikely we’ll hear any new music anytime soon.
