Gospel Singer Kim Burrell Apologizes After Going in on Church Congregation

Sometimes it’s the holy people that need to be corrected. This time around, it’s gospel singer Kim Burrell for her recent rant to a congregation at a church service.

Burrell has since apologized after receiving widespread criticism over her jokes about screening your friends’ financial status and not taking the Covid vaccine, and a few other things.

After the clip went viral, the 49-year-old Houston native issues an apology to those that didn’t care for her offensive comments, with many feeling that they were intentionally offensive.

The singer apologized by saying, “As a kingdom citizen, and a woman of integrity, I can acknowledge that some of my words, even if said in jest, can be offensive. My intention is never to hurt anyone but to spread love, laughter, and more importantly, the gift which God has given me in song. If anyone was offended, I can sincerely say I apologize,” she said in part.

But then went on to say she’s being defamed and what could possibly be seen as a threat, adding “slander and defamation are not taken lightly especially if it affects my name, image or brand.”

She concluded her somewhat sincere apology by saying, “Again, I will apologize if anyone thought my humor was malicious, but I will not under any circumstances tolerate harassment, slander, of for my character to be defamed.”
