In a recent and serious legal development, Grace O’Marcaigh has filed a complaint against Christian “King” Combs, son of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging sexual assault and harassment. This lawsuit, lodged in Los Angeles County Superior Court and detailed by NBC News, brings to light accusations surrounding an incident that reportedly occurred on Diddy’s chartered yacht during a trip in late December 2022.
At the time of the alleged incident, O’Marcaigh was employed as a steward on the yacht, responsible for serving dinner and drinks to guests from evening till morning. The atmosphere she described was one of high-profile partying, with a mix of celebrities and what she suspected to be sex workers, alongside substance use.
The complaint outlines how Christian Combs boarded the yacht around December 28, 2022, apparently to work with music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who has similarly accused Diddy of sexual assault in a separate lawsuit. O’Marcaigh alleges that upon his arrival, Combs, appearing “heavily intoxicated,” singled her out and pressured her into consuming alcohol, subsequently becoming more aggressive.
The document goes further to accuse Combs of physically assaulting O’Marcaigh, detailing an incident where he allegedly groped her. The situation purportedly escalated despite O’Marcaigh’s attempts to resist and remove herself from the situation. Audio recordings provided by Jones, which capture O’Marcaigh declining alcohol and requesting Combs to cease his advances, support her claims, according to NBC News.
O’Marcaigh’s attempts to address the incident with the yacht’s captain the following day reportedly met with disbelief and subsequent retaliation, leading to her dismissal a few months later in May 2023. The aftermath of the ordeal left O’Marcaigh struggling with significant mental health challenges, including anxiety, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, an eating disorder, and epileptic seizures.
The lawsuit also names Sean “Diddy” Combs, implicating him for aiding and abetting the alleged assault and under premises liability for chartering the yacht. Statements from O’Marcaigh’s legal team express no joy in filing the lawsuit but emphasize the importance of holding the Combs accountable. “I applaud Grace for being so brave to come forward with her truth,” said Rodney S. Diggs, one of O’Marcaigh’s attorneys. “Hopefully her story will inspire others to come forward.”
