SZA's Manager Pulled Her VMA Performance After She Was Snubbed For Artist Of The Year

“Grammy Nominations Unveiled: SZA Tops with Nine, Victoria Monet Scores Seven!

The Grammy Awards nominations for the 67th annual event are out, and SZA is leading the pack with nine nominations. Other notable nominees include Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Jon Batiste, Victoria Monét, and Billie Eilish, all competing for Record of the Year alongside SZA.

Looking at Album of the Year, there are eight contenders, including six artists from the Record of the Year category (SZA, Swift, Rodrigo, Boygenius, Cyrus, and Batiste). Lana Del Rey and Janelle Monae also earned nominations for their albums.

After SZA’s nine nominations, three people share seven nominations each: Monét, Phoebe Bridgers (six for her work with Boygenius and one with SZA), and mixing engineer Serban Ghenea. Another group of eight musicians has six nominations each: Jack Antonoff, Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Cyrus, Eilish, Rodrigo, and Swift.

There’s a notable trend showcasing the dominance of female performers in the current music scene. Jon Batiste is the only male artist with six or more nominations, while an impressive nine female performers achieve the same.

The standout moment is Victoria Monét, securing seven nominations as predicted by forecasters since the beginning of her music career in 2013. It was just a matter of time.

The 2024 GRAMMYs will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS and Paramount+
