Mac Bre-Z, Gucci Mane’s first-ever signee, has publicly called out the 1017 Records mogul for failing to pay her for music she had previously written and performed nearly 20 years ago.
In a detailed Instagram post, Bre-Z shared a throwback photo with Gucci Mane, alleging that he not only mentioned her name in his songs without compensation but also failed to pay her for writing credits and featured tracks. She also claims she once took the stand to defend him in court, serving as his “alibi” in a legal case.
“Why haven’t you done the right thing and just compensate me for everything I’m entitled to? Everybody eating off these records but me,” she wrote in part.
The tracks in question include Gucci’s 2005 song “Go Head” and “Pillz,” released in 2007. Alongside these financial grievances, Bre-Z also recounted alleged abuse during their time together, accusing Gucci of violence.
“ I never did a tell all & exposed any stories about your personal life over the 6yrs we were together. When you punched me in the face, I could’ve snitched & had you arrested while you was on bond for the murder case of Jeezy artist,” she wrote, referring to Gucci’s self-defense case involving the death of Henry “Pookie Loc” Clark during an attempt on Gucci’s life.
In a follow-up video, Bre-Z says she was motivated to seek legal action after trying to upload her performances on social media and being blocked from doing so. In another post, she flat-out stated, “Gucci been stealing my ideas & running off with them.”
Gucci has not publicly responded to her claims. He has recently made headlines for announcing the release of his 1017 Records roster, except for Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano. While it’s unclear how much Bre-Z believes she is owed, Gucci’s recent shakeups at the label might increase her chances of securing a payout.
