It is officially 2014! Time for change, time for improvement, time to set new goals for yourself. One of the most popular goals for this time of year is weight loss! Gym membership sales sky rocket, and you’re bombarded with commercials for meal plans and diet pills(more than usual). It may be overwhelming but if you do your research, set realistic goals, and have a plan, you can finally succeed at achieving the Ballerific Body of you dreams!
Research,Research, Research!!!
When it comes to anything you have to do your research. It’s very rare that I jump into anything blind. You have to research gyms. Which gym works best for you? Are you even a gym person? Would you rather just workout at home? If so, the which workout DVDs will fit your needs? When it comes to diet, you have to find a diet that will fit your nutritional needs, and your schedule. Are you trying to build muscle? Then you need to research high protein diets. Simply trying to drop a few pounds? Search low calorie diet. Don’t know what to eat? Google recipes! Google should be your best friend during this time. Don’t go into this blind. If you fail to plan your plan will fail! Don’t be that girl!
Setting Realistic Goals!
Hate to break it to you, but though you might be able to lose 50lbs in a month you probably won’t keep it off and more than likely you’ll gain back more than you lost. If you lose it. You have to be realistic with your weight loss goals. It’s not going to happen overnight, because the weight gain didn’t happen overnight. There are websites you can go to that will let you know how long it will take to get to your goal weight the healthy way. You’re not suppose to lose more than 2 lbs a week, so if you’re trying to lose 50 lbs its going to take 25 weeks, which is a little over 5 months, at the least! Losing weight too fast will result in losing muscle, and if you’re trying to get a nice plump rump to go with your little waist losing muscle is the last thing you want to do.
Have A Plan, Stick With It and Trust It!
Now that you’ve done your research and set your goals, it is time to put your plan together. Figure out your diet and stick to it. Find a workout routine and do it no matter what! Don’t ever doubt your plan! You won’t see results overnight, but that doesn’t mean they won’t happen. Patience is key. You could join a challenge that already has a preset diet and workout plan. These challenges could be at your gym, or online, you just have to search. Bodybuilding.com has a ton of workout and meal plans to choose from, and before you let the site name scare you off, these plans won’t make you look manly. One of the most popular plans is Jamie Eason’s Live Fit, a 12 week plan broken into 3 phases. If you can’t afford a personal trainer, and not good at putting together workouts yourself, I definitely recommend you check out that site.
Lastly, just stay focused and positive. Make this into a lifestyle change! This shouldn’t just be for vanity but for a better quality of life. Make this year your year! I know you can do it!
