In connection to the murder of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz, five alleged Trinitarios gang members entered guilty pleas to first-degree manslaughter charges.
The five men are the most recent to be charged for the brutal murder of the 15-year-old that was caught on camera at a Bronx bodega in June 2018.
On Wednesday, the Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced that Ronald Urena, Luis Cabrera Santos, 29; Gabriel Ramirez Concepcion, 30; Danilo Payamps Pacheco, 26, have pleaded guilty. A fifth defendant, Jose Tavarez, 26, also pleaded guilty on Nov. 16.
According to reports, 14 “Los Sures” Trinitarios gang members targeted Guzman-Feliz, chased him, and dragged him out of a bodega in Belmont.
Prosecutors claim that five other gang members repeatedly attacked and slashed the boy with knives and a machete before killing him.
Although he was a little innocent teenager, Guzman-Feliz’s attackers believed him to be a rival gang member.
Leandra Feliz, his mother, started a “Justice for Junior” campaign and released the horrifying video of his murder to demand that her son’s killers be brought to justice.
According to the district attorney’s office, the five men will be sentenced to 12 to 15 years, followed by post-release supervision.
Clark said in a statement, “The defendants’ actions culminated in the brutal attack on Lesandro “Junior” Guzman… Since Junior was taken from his family, we have been relentless in attaining justice for him.”
So far, more than a dozen attackers have been convicted and sentenced.
Five men are serving life without parole and 23 years to life for hacking the teen to death in 2019.
“Los Sures” leader Diego Suero and his second-in-command Frederick were both found guilty of second-degree murder and are serving sentences of 25 to life.
