Gunna is officially closing out his chapter with YSL Records. The Atlanta rapper has announced that his next album, “The Last Wun,” will drop August 8th and serve as his final project under the label that’s been shadowed by legal troubles and public drama.
He broke the news in a tweet, revealing that the album will include 25 tracks. Gunna is keeping details light for now. He hasn’t released a tracklist or features yet, but he did unveil the cover art.
Speaking with Uproxx in June, Gunna explained his approach to the project: “It’s not a theme or a concept. When I create, I go with what I feel.” He added, “I might approach an album not even knowing the title yet and it’ll form… For this album in particular, it’s no theme. It’s in current time of what’s happening with me.”
The rollout comes just weeks after Young Thug posted a cryptic message many interpreted as a jab: “If u a rapper and u a rat, u gotta just go gospel twin.” Gunna’s name wasn’t mentioned, but the tension has been clear.
“The Last Wun” follows “One of Wun,” which dropped earlier this year.
