Seattle Seahawks’ Kam Chancellor had an unfortunate run-in with law enforcement after having the cops called on him by mistake.
Chancellor stopped by the Redmond Athletics Club in Redmond, Washington on Wednesday evening to check out the place. He runs a fitness boot camp for women on the side and was looking into buying a gym to host his classes. Since the Redmond Athletics Club had just shut down this week, he went over there to get more information about how he could potentially buy the place.
Chancellor says he was just trying to get a phone number so that he could call and inquire about buying the gym. He looked into the window to try and get the employees’ attention but they proceeded to ignore him. Next thing he knows, the cops show up at the gym. It turns out two female employees called the cops on him because they thought he was trying to rob the place. Once the cops arrived and talked to Chancellor, they quickly realized it was a horrible misunderstanding and left.
Chancellor later recounted the incident on Twitter.
“The funniest thing just happened to me in Redmond. I went to go get info on a gym that was closed and 2 ladies called the cops on me,” he wrote. “They told the cops I was trying to rob the place because I was looking into the glass asking for help. I took a picture of the two employees.”
“Good thing the cops know I’m a good guy and stealing isn’t in my blood. I work for everything I get,” he added.
Now thanks to those two ignorant women, Chancellor will be taking his valuable business elsewhere.
“I guess I won’t put a gym in Redmond then,” he quipped. “I’m not qualified.”
