Halle Berry ruffled the Barbz feathers this past weekend when she referred to Cardi B as the ‘queen of hip-hop’
The fan group definitely feel some type of way whenever someone mentions “Queen of Hip Hop” and doesn’t follow it up with Nicki Minaj’s name.
On Saturday, the award-winning actress hosted the premiere for her new film ‘Bruised,’ which she directed and starred in and thanked Cardi B for curating the all-female soundtrack. During her speech, Halle shared that she reached out to Cardi because “she is the queen of hip hop.”
Now while some people may have agreed with Halle, others begged to differ.

On Sunday, Winnie Harlow got thrown in the mix when she presented Nicki Minaj with the Best Hip Hop Award at MTV’s 2021 Europe Music Awards. Before revealing the winner, Winnie referred to Nicki, “the one and only Queen of Hip Hop.” Now whether this was shade towards Halle’s claim or just a coincidence, it sure had the internet talking.

Cardi B caught wind of the internet chatter but kept her response short and called the behavior “childish.”
