Happy 4/20: Baller Alert’s Favorite Weed Smoking Musicians

It’s 4/20 and that means it’s every weed-smokers favorite day of the year. So in honor of the holiday here’s an ode to EIGHT of our favorite musically-inclined stoners.

1. Bob Marley: “Legalize marijuana yeah. Down here in Jamaica yeah. It can build up a failing economy yeah, eliminate the slavish mentality”

Arguably the most iconic celebrity weed smoker is none other than Mr. Bob Marley. The late Jamaican musician, singer, and songwriter, was never one to shy away from the herbal lifestyle, primarily because of his Rastafarian background. With songs like Natural Mystic and Ganja Gun, Marley provided an early soundtrack for weed smokers for years to come.

2. Rihanna: “I’d rather be smoking weed, whenever we breathe, every time you kiss me”

When it comes to celeb weed smokers, the Barbadian bad gal is definitely one of our list of faves. Rih is easily the most fashionable on the list and she doesn’t mind adding a blunt to accessorize her outfits. It was rumored that the singer would be launching a line of weed called ‘MaRihanna’, but that idea was quickly denied. There’s definitely a lane for Rih’s cannabis endeavors in the future though.

3. Snoop Dogg: “Break it down, roll it up. Pass if you’ve had enough, You’re with the big boss Dogg So go and puff puff”

At this point, Uncle Snoop is undeniably the head stoner in charge. From admitting to smoking weed in a bathroom at the White House, to launching his own line of the substance, Snoop has taken the cake for celeb weed smokers.

4.Wiz Khalifa: “Why can’ t everyone just smoke like me? just gimme a quiet place and lemme roll my weed”

Like many of his counterparts, Wiz Khalifa smokes A LOT of weed. The rapper even released his own line of cannabis, Khalifa Kush. Having mixtape titles like ‘Kush and Orange Juice’ and tour names like ‘The High Road’ can clearly attest to Wiz’s favorite past time.

5. Curren$y: “I’ll be at the studio around nine, you hope I pass my joint down the line. You know I smoke it by the bucket full. Medical grade, straight Dr. Huxtable.”

You can’t name stoner musicians without giving an honorable mention to New Orleans’ own Curren$y. Nearly all of his songs contain marijuana references. He even incorporates weed into the name of his label (Jet Life) and his mixtapes (The Stoned Immaculate).

6. Justin Timberlake: “No papers, catch vapors, Get high, out Vegas.”

Justin Timberlake is a self-admitted stoner.  About 5 years ago, he did an interview with Playboy Magazine where he revealed that he definitely smokes, and uses it as a way to not think. “The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking. Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high,” said Timberlake.

7. Jhene Aiko: “Wake up, wake up, bake up. Gotta hit that vape up. Let’s get faded.”

Growing up a Cali girl, Jhene Aiko loves two things — her Hennessy and her weed. Last year Aiko did an interview with Buzzfeed where she mentioned all the perk of lighting up. Not only does it help her with her creativity, but it’s a stress reliever, a great way to bond with other people, and helps her focus on positive affirmations.

8. Nas: “Imagine smoking weed in the streets without cops harassing”

Though he has cut back a bit, Nas was definitely one to engage in a little weed smoking and look good doing it. Little known fact, in an interview, rapper Redman says he used to be Nas’ weed man.

“We [were both] out, I knew him, his girl and his girl was working at Def Jam, right here on Bleecker Street, so this was a long time I knew him,” Redman recalled. “I used to go get Nas blunts. He used to ask me ‘cause he from Queens and moved to Long Island and just so happens I moved to Long Island with EPMD, I’m from Jersey. I used to go to the homie house back when we was young, like 23, 24.”
