Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer says that the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, amongst other matters, is making it difficult to prepare for the former film producer’s current civil case, and he needs more time, according to TMZ.
A new legal document reportedly obtained by TMZ states that Weinstein is requesting a 2-month extension for discovery in a civil case, “due to the current coronavirus crisis.” Weinstein, the convicted rapist, is facing a civil lawsuit by actress Wedil David for sexual assault.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Weinstein’s lawyer Imran Ansari also states several other reasons as to why the movie mogul is not able to meet the court’s current deadline, including, “his recent conviction in his NY rape case, his pending criminal case in Los Angeles, and his rapidly declining health and medical problems.”
It was highly noticeable that Weinstein’s lawyer failed to confirm that Weinstein tested positive for COVID-19 due to what he said was out of respect for his privacy rights against the opposing counsel. However, TMZ reports that they have confirmed that Weinstein tested positive for the virus at Wende Correctional Facility in New York along with one other inmate.
The legal document reportedly obtained by TMZ describes Weinstein as an “at-risk individual” and claims the events that took place last month have concluded to be a “perfect storm” for him. It also reportedly says that the coronavirus pandemic warrants an extension of a deadline in his civil suit to May 15.
The judge hasn’t ruled on the motion at this time.

He is a convicted rapist, but I don’t believe he is a rapist, it is very difficult for him to have a fair trial after this trial by the media that happened.
But let’s see what will be the result of the appeal.
