HBO Max Crashes Five Minutes Before ‘Euphoria’ Season Finale

HBO’s streaming service HBO Max crashed ahead of the season finale of its hit series Euphoria.

Look, when it comes to Euphoria fans, it gets serious when a new episode is about to drop. And it’s even worse when it’s the season finale. According to Variety, at around 8:55 p.m. ET, HBO Max – where new episodes of Euphoria drop every Sunday at 9 p.m. – a lot of technical issues started happening on the streaming service.

The error message: “Something Went Wrong. Sorry, we’re having trouble communicating with the service. Please close the app and try again” appeared on subscribers’ screens. HBO Max’s mobile device app told users their device wasn’t connected to the internet.

It didn’t take long for people to make public complaints on Twitter, which led to WarnerMedia sending out a statement to explain what was going on.

“We’ve seen the tweets from some of our users who had trouble accessing HBO Max around 9 p.m. ET and are engaging directly to help get them back into the platform,” the company’s statement read. Thirty minutes later, HBO Max was back up and running.
