Herschel Walker denied paying for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion in 2009.
On Monday’s episode of ‘Hannity,’ the Republican Senate nominee makes it clear that he did not pay for an abortion. Walker’s denial came after a report stated he urged a former girlfriend to get an abortion after she became pregnant while they were dating.
In addition, the report showed that he reimbursed her $700 for the procedure.
“It is a flat-out lie, and now you know how important this seat is,” Walker says.
In an interview cited by The Daily Beast, the woman claimed to have a bank receipt showing that Walker sent her the money and a “get well” card.
The report also stated that the woman has proof of their intimate relationship and confirmed the details of the abortion with a close friend who took care of her following the procedure.
Walker believes the allegations came as an attack on him for Georgia’s GOP Senate seat. Walker is challenging Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in a race to determine if the GOP wins back the Senate majority in November’s midterm elections.
“They’ll do anything to win the seat,” Walker said. “Lie, because they want to make it about everything else except for the true problems that we have in this country is, there’s inflation, the border wide open, crime, they don’t want to talk about that.”
Nevertheless, Walker says the plans to sue The Daily Beast for defamation.
