A 17 year old member of Frederick Douglass High School’s football team has been charged with attempted murder after an attack on his team mate.
The incident was caught on video and posted online. The suspect, 17 year old Sean Johnson, could be seen brutally beating the victim in the school’s cafeteria. In the video Johnson repeatedly punches and stomps his bloodied teammate in the head until he is knocked unconscious and at one point begins having convulsions. The victim, who in the video didn’t appear to be fighting back, was taken to the hospital and had to undergo surgery. Johnson was arrested Thursday and faces attempted murder, assault and other charges. He is being tried as an adult. It is unclear what started the fight.
Sad that Johnson has pretty much thrown his life away over something that was probably extremely petty. With a viral video as evidence, there’s nothing he can do but make a plea and pray.
