Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has reportedly shut down the rumors that she might be considering teaming up with Michael Bloomberg as his running mate if he were to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
Rumors and speculation ran rampant last weekend after an unconfirmed Drudge Report claimed Bloomberg was considering Clinton. But on Wednesday, during an event for the Clinton Global Initiative, Hillary stated her intentions, plainly saying, “Oh no! I’m just waiting and watching as this plays out. I will support whoever the nominee is.”
Last week, Clinton also told Ellen DeGeneres that she would not consider the opportunity to be vice president, saying, “Well, that’s not going to happen, but no,” when asked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While Clinton has vowed to still be present in the political arena, she’s not open for another run. Last November, Clinton told the BBC that “many, many, many people” were encouraging her to consider running again, to which she said, “I, as I say, never, never, never say never. … But as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans,” according to the Fox News report.
