The closer and closer you get to a guy, the more likely you’ll have to deal with this problem, his homeboys. Now if you’re lucky, his homeboys will be accepting of you and welcome you in as an extended part of their brotherhood. Every now and then however, you get the homeboy that feels you are all bad no matter what you do. You’re either changing his homie for the worse, controlling him or taking him away from his boys. Why does your man’s homie have a problem with you? Is he jealous? Gay?
Let’s assume he’s jealous. What could your man’s boy have to be jealous about? Well there are a few things. Guys are very confusing yet simple creatures. Who they are around their friends is never the same as who he is around you. Although he’s affectionate and loving towards you, according to his friends he’s the biggest party animal out of the whole crew. When his two worlds collide it’s very different to keep up the facade so what normally happens is he chooses his girl…and that makes his boys angry! Unfortunately this is when they begin to think he has changed, when in fact he’s just showing them who he was around you the entire time.
Another reason his boys may be jealous is because you’re giving them a good reason to be. Some women (I’m guilty of it at times) want our men to spend so much time with us that we forget that he has friends and family that want to be around him just as much as we do. We demand so much “quality time” from our man that we’ve taken him away from the others that care about him. It’s a selfish trait that we have. We mean well, but could you blame his boys if they get a little upset?
Now enough of that! Let’s assume homie is gay. That would explain why he’s all in his emotions right? If your man’s homeboy is showing the protective girlfriend trait, chances are he wants to do more than just play a little flag football with your boo. Here are a few scenarios that may expose homie for being homo-sexual…
** If you’re spending quality time with your boo and his boy keeps texting him…That’s jealousy to a new level and you need to tell your man to check his friend.
** If your man’s homie makes sly remarks towards you and has even called you out your name…. He is a little more infatuated than you think.
** If homie has ever started rumors about you or told your man a lies about you…He has female characteristics and if your man entertains this, so does he!
So if you’re going through this situation now, and your boo’s boy is throwing shade, is he just jealous or is he gay?
