A 61-year-old woman is asking for help locating her lost chihuahua after being struck by a car that sent her to the hospital and her dog on the run.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident was reported just before 3 a.m. on Feb. 28. Sandra Martin was struck by a sedan traveling in reverse. Her dog, Lil Man, ran off with his leash still attached.
KNX News reports that Martin was thrown to the ground. The driver stopped to pull her out from under the car, but instead of helping, he walked back to the car. Martin asked him if he was leaving, and he replied, “I sure am.”
Both the driver and the car remain unidentified. The hit-and-run suspect is described as Black with a thin build, about 170 to 190 pounds. He is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old.
Martin was taken to an area hospital for her injuries, which required surgery. She’s now asking the public’s help to find her dog, who is still missing. Lil Man is described as a brown, long-haired chihuahua-terrier mix.
Anyone with information on the accident vehicle and driver or about the dog, Little Man, is asked to please get in touch with LAPD Det. Juan Campos at (213) 833-3713 or email him at [email protected].
