The first look at the Mugler x H&M collab has arrived, and each piece represents the true essence of the fashion house.
This week, the official lookbook was unveiled, showcasing classic silhouettes that are both an ode to the 80s and the late founder, Manfred Thierry Mugler, who passed away last year. Runway mainstays, such as the Mugler High Neck Catsuit, serve as the blueprint for much of the H&M line.
However, each piece has enough distinction to set it apart from its predecessors.
Mugler is known for its use of cutouts and mesh, and its H&M assemblage is no exception. Within the women’s selection, there is plenty of this to go around in sexy black jumpsuits and vibrant mini-dresses. The luxury line also puts patchwork to use in its denim lineup, incorporating long black strips in intricate patterns across jeans and denim jackets.
The men also have promising options, specifically a black leather full-length trench coat, which is undoubtedly the standout. Black mesh is meticulously placed, mainly in several gender-neutral tops. Another eye-catching ensemble is a structured blazer and accompanying pants in a bright lime color that aligns well with spring hues.
H&M is continuing its designer run with this highly anticipated Mugler collection. Previously, the Swedish retailer has teamed up with Moschino, Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, and Balmain, among other high-end names.
The looks will officially make their way to select H&M stores beginning May 11th.
