Today is National Stepfamily Day, and it’s all about honoring blended families and the love that keeps them strong.
In Hollywood, we see plenty of famous families thriving, despite the constant rumors or drama that come with being in the spotlight.
Take Cardi B and Offset, for example. Outside of their three kids—Kulture, Wave, and their new baby girl—Offset has sons Jordan, Kody, and daughter Kalea. Cardi B has embraced her role as a stepmom, always posting fun videos and spending time with all the kids. You can tell she really loves them like her own.
Then there’s Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, another example of a blended family doing it right. Dwyane has two kids, Zaire and Zaya, from his first marriage, along with Xavier, who was born in 2013. Together, he and Gabrielle share Kaavia, who was born via surrogate. Even though Gabrielle never wanted kids at first, becoming a stepmom completely changed her mind, and now they all make it work beautifully.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are a more recent addition to the blended family crew. They got married in 2022 and welcomed their son Rocky in 2023. Travis has two other kids, Alabama and Asher, from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler, while Kourtney has three kids of her own—Mason, Penelope, and Reign—with her ex, Scott Disick. Together, they’ve created a big, happy family.
Russell Wilson has always stepped up as a stepdad to Ciara’s son, Future. Over the years, Wilson has treated him like his own while he and Ciara have three other children together. His bond with baby Future is undeniable, and he’s proven to be a devoted father figure.
We can’t talk about stepfamilies without mentioning the Kravitz-Momoa family. Though Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa recently split, their blended family with Bonet’s daughter, Zoë Kravitz, from her marriage to Lenny Kravitz, is still strong. Jason has always shown nothing but love for Zoë, even calling her his “partner in crime” at times. He is also very close with Lenny Kravitz, who he called “the most beautiful man in the world.” Despite the breakup, the love between them remains solid, proving that blended families can stay close even after changes.
And, of course, we can’t leave out Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Together, they’ve raised a strong blended family. Will has a son, Trey, from his first marriage to Sheree Zampino. Jada has always embraced her role as Trey’s stepmom, treating him as her own alongside her and Will’s children, Jaden and Willow, proving that a blended family can be just as strong as any other.
On National Stepfamily Day, it’s important to celebrate the beauty in how these families come together and continue to support each other no matter what.
