Hulu recently raised its prices for its live TV bundle, but a cool feature will be added under that price, unlimited cloud DVR storage.
Deadline reported that the streaming platform would offer the feature to all Live TV subscriptions starting April 13th.
Hulu + Live TV plans initially included 50 hours of DVR space with unskippable ads and allowed subscribers to upgrade to 200 hours of storage through add-ons that ranged from $10 per month to $15 per month, Complex reported.
The new Enhanced Cloud DVR add-on will expand to 200 hours without the ads at no additional cost, and recordings stored on the DVR will last nine months.
“Hulu + Live TV is becoming even more valuable and attractive to consumers,” Hulu president Joe Earley said in a statement.
“Through one single subscription, users get access to 80+ live channels – including all the major broadcast networks – as well as Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, and soon Unlimited DVR. We will be one of the only pay-TV providers – traditional or streaming – to offer this feature as part of the base plan at no additional cost.”
The news comes three months after Hulu raised its Live TV package from $65 per month to $70 per month, which is equal to the price of YouTube TV but bundled in Disney Plus and ESPN Plus for no additional cost to subscribers.
