Hurricane Chris says he is suing the Shreveport police department after he claims he lost over a million dollars in potential earnings after he was acquitted of second-degree murder in March.
The jury ruled that Chris acted in self-defense when he killed Danzeria Farris Jr. at a Texaco station in their hometown. Chris argues this verdict only came about because a key investigator was exposed for not locating witnesses or recognizing the threat to Chris’ life during the trial.
Chris told TMZ he feels sorry about the situation, especially since he is friends with some of the deceased’s family members. However, he’s eager to get back to his career, which will now also involve acting.
Chris is preparing to sue for all damages and lost wages after he missed TV show auditions for two popular series, “Snowfall” and 50 Cent’s “BMF.”
