While the trailer for the newest TV series involving the Kardashian-Jenner clan has just been released, another show is getting the boot.
“I Am Cait,” the reality show centered around Caitlyn Jenner as she transitions into her new lifestyle, will end after just two seasons. Jenner announced the news to her fans via Twitter on Tuesday.
“After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it’s time for the next adventure,” the 66-year-old tweeted. “Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!”
The cancellation comes just months after the show had reached its lowest views since its July 2015 start. The series garnered just under 3 million views during its premiere and fell further when it failed to reach 800,000 viewers by its 2nd season opener.
An E! representative released the following statement in regards to the cancellation:
An E! spokesperson issued the following statement: “We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs. Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
