Ice Cube has been using his voice more than ever to express his thoughts on the upcoming 2020 election and his criticisms of both the Republican and Democratic Parties.
The rap legend has called for both political parties to take action to repair the devastation done to the Black community by promoting a “Contract for Black America.” Cube met with members of both parties and called on Democrats and Republicans to detail an agenda for Black Americans in order to get his vote.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Cube’s “Contract for Black America” talks may have helped influence the Trump administration to create their “Platinum Plan.”
One of Trump’s staffers, Katrina Pierson, gave Ice Cube a shout-out via Twitter, crediting the N.W.A. member with helping develop the plan.
“Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan,” Pierson tweeted along with the link to the plan.
Trump’s “Platinum Plan” reportedly includes an initiative to help “increase access to capital in Black communities by almost $500 billion” by creating new 3M jobs in Black communities and 500,000 black-owned businesses.
“Who knows what’s really gonna happen. I just know one of ’em is gonna win. I don’t know if it can really matter to us. We gotta just push whoever’s in there because no one’s solved our problems. People say we can’t take another four years of this. Black people, we can take anything. Sh*t,” Cube said.
