Ice Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., is setting the record straight after Cleotrapa’s TikTok rant about being mistreated on tour.
Cleotrapa claimed that despite being promised inclusion in the tour budget, she was left out and faced various issues while on tour with Spice.
However, Ice Spice went on a rant of her own while addressing the drama on X Spaces, saying she was only trying to help a friend, and was saddened by the situation.
Now, Rosemond Jr. is addressing the claims, saying, “This is what happens when an artist’s team doesn’t manage their artist’s expectations properly. If you’re not prepared and your team isn’t advancing, that’s on them, not on us offering the opportunity.”
He explained that artists must know how to handle and leverage these opportunities effectively. “Some artists just don’t know how to make hits and end up crashing out and ranting,” he added. Rosemond Jr. also revealed that after speaking with Cleotrapa’s manager, it became clear that Cleotrapa’s team lacked the financial backing to be on the tour.
Rosemond Jr. emphasized that artists might not fully grasp the business side of things. “Sometimes an artist might extend an opportunity out of kindness, but it’s up to the management to ensure everything is accurate because there’s always a cost involved.”
It appears that there is definitely more to the story. Let’s hope Cleotrapa and Ice Spice can work things out.
My team spoke to the artist’s mngr this morning & the artist’s mngr said he blames himself becuz he pushed his client to stay becuz it was a great opportunity…but he knows his client is 100% wrong. The mngr realized his client didn’t have the financial backin to be on the tour.
