An Idaho woman won two 6-figure prizes from lottery tickets within a 24-hour time frame, totaling $500,000.
Orlene Peterson purchased several lottery tickets in Hayden, Idaho. With the $20 that she had leftover, she decided to buy one more ticket, a Grand Fortune ticket. It ended up winning her a $200,000 prize.
Peterson decided to test her luck again the next morning when she purchased another ticket in a different town. She scored another $300,000 on a ticket called Comin’ in Hot.
“When I scanned it and said I had to claim it at the lottery, I thought maybe it was $1,000. I never imagined it would be $300,000 and that it happened again. The next day!” Peterson said.
The Idaho Lottery said that the odds of this happening was about 1 in 282.5 million.
Peterson says that she plans to use her earnings to purchase a new truck and pay off her bills. She says that she may even treat herself to a trip to Las Vegas.
