Idris Elba has been tapped to play Knuckles in “Sonic the Hedgehog 2.”
Elba, 48, will be joining the star-studded cast of the sequel of Sonic the Hedgehog. Rumors were floating around earlier on Tuesday about Elba allegedly joining the production. But, it was all confirmed after the actor took to Instagram and posted an image of Knuckles’ fist and two horns. In the caption, he wrote, “Knock, Knock….”
The Instagram page for the film returned the celebratory gesture by sharing a screenshot of Elba’s post with the caption, “This should punch things up. #Knuckles #Sonic2.” In the comments, Elba wrote, “Let’s go,” with a punching emoji.
Elba will work alongside the returning cast, including Ben Schwartz, who plays Sonic, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, and Jim Carrey.
