IHOP Uses Gingersnaps to Spread Holiday Joy With New Seasonal Menu

IHOP will not be outdone this holiday season, releasing their seasonal menu that is simply too good to resist.

This week, the International House of Pancakes announced they were ushering in the flavors of Thanksgiving and Christmas with an emphasis on gingersnaps and fruit. First up is the Gingersnap Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast, which is the only new food item on the limited-time menu. This dish takes thick, sweet bread and smothers it with cinnamon apple compote, gingersnap cookie pieces, powdered sugar, and red currants.

While a winter essential, the Gingersnap Hot Chocolate is the classic drink, but with a gingersnap cookie twist, topped with whipped cream and red currants. Another cozy beverage is Gingersnap Milkshake, which combines vanilla ice cream, gingersnap syrup, cookies, and caramel with a whipped topping, sure to become a favorite amongst patrons. Lastly, IHOP goers will get the chance to experience the Red Passionfruit Splasher, a mixed quencher consisting of lemonade, lemon-lime soda, red passionfruit syrup, and more red currants.

Though it appears the pancake connoisseur went a bit overboard with the incorporation of gingersnaps, fans will surely enjoy the dedication to this underappreciated holiday cookie. Also, the use of currants is not widely seen in food chains, another way that IHOP is setting its seasonal menu apart. Though the currants add color to the meals, the sweet and sour taste of the berry also enhances the overall flavors.

There is no official end date for the holiday menu, so foodies have at least two months to get their hands on these heartwarming IHOP creations.
