The son of the late rock ‘n roll legend Tina Turner and her ex-husband and partner in music, Ike Turner, was arrested over the weekend on charges of crack cocaine possession and tampering with evidence.
PEOPLE reports that the musician, 64, was pulled over in Alvin, Texas, for either a missing headlight or taillight.
During the stop, the officers initiated an investigation, which resulted in the discovery of illegal substances. Ike Jr. was observed trying to consume the narcotics he had in his possession. The officers seized 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and 0.7 grams of methamphetamine from him.
“He tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him,” said Capt. Q.T. Arendell of the Alvin Police Dept.
An incident report also revealed Ike Jr.’s passenger, Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, is also being charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines).
