Teyana Taylor is demanding legal consequences for ex-husband Iman Shumpert, accusing him of leaking sealed divorce documents—but Shumpert is adamantly denying any involvement.
According to court filings obtained by TMZ, Taylor alleges that Shumpert deliberately leaked private information about their divorce to the media, which led to misleading reports on social media. She insists there was no “settlement,” but rather, the court awarded each of them their rightful assets, including four properties for her and three for Shumpert.
She also addressed reports about luxury cars, clarifying that she paid for her own Maybach after Shumpert allegedly crashed and abandoned her Rolls Royce without replacing it. Taylor believes the leak was strategically timed, as it came just days after she went viral for an Oscars night photo with another actor and coincided with the release of Shumpert’s new rap song—suggesting he used their split for publicity.
However, Shumpert is denying Taylor’s allegations. His attorney, Stephen C. Steele, issued a statement on Wednesday, saying, “My client, Mr. Iman Shumpert, has never whatsoever leaked any allegations or claims stated in any of the pleadings in the Taylor/Shumpert divorce case. Mr. Shumpert adamantly denies that he has provided any information to any media.”
Shumpert also vowed to continue complying with the court’s order to keep the case details sealed, adding, “He has absolutely no interest in discussing any of these private and personal details with any media or any parties not directly involved with this case.”
Despite Shumpert’s denial, Taylor has asked the judge to hold him in contempt of court, sentence him to 20 days in jail, and impose maximum fines. She says she has been unfairly subjected to public scrutiny while Shumpert has benefited from the media attention.
The former couple, who first met in 2011, got engaged in 2015 and tied the knot a year later. Taylor ultimately filed for divorce in January 2023.
