A priest and two dominatrices have been charged after having a threesome on top of a church altar.

A former priest, 37-year-old Travis Clark, and two women have been charged with vandalism for having a ménage à trois in Saints Peter and the Paul Catholic Church in Pearl River, Louisiana, in September. The two women were identified as Mindy Dixon, 41, and 28-year-old Melissa Cheng. The party was initially given obscenity charges for the crime, but the charges were reduced.

According to court records, the trio got caught by a passerby who saw them through a church window and reported them to the police, according to court records, New York Post reports. Dixon and Cheng, who work as dominatrices, wore corsets and high heels during their recorded sexual event. The throuple also was equipped with sex toys, and stage lights were around the room.

Dixon and Cheng’s lawyer says state prosecutors “overstepped their bounds” by bringing charges against them. “It is clear the state went out of its way to contort the facts of this case to fit their own narrative,” attorney Bradley Phillips told NOLA.com.

“This [is] nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to regulate the morality of private individuals. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t make it criminal. My clients look forward to their day in court as we continue to fight this baseless allegation,” he added.

The women explained to police officers that they were there to do role-play with the priest. The New York Post says the priest was removed from the church the day after he was arrested. The outlet reports that the church burned the old altar and replaced it with a new one.
