Brittany Fortinberry, a 31-year-old former teacher at Eminence High School in Indiana, is at the center of a disturbing child sex abuse case—and now, her husband has filed for divorce as the scandal continues to unfold.
According to TMZ, Fortinberry’s husband, Nicholas Fortinberry, filed divorce papers after authorities launched a criminal investigation into allegations that she engaged in sexual acts with multiple underage students. The couple, who married in November 2020, share a four-year-old child, and Nicholas is seeking temporary custody along with temporary possession of the family home. He listed their separation date as February 21, 2025.
The charges against Brittany are deeply troubling. According to police documents, she allegedly had group sex with several underage boys, sent them explicit photos and videos, and supplied them with alcohol and psychedelic mushrooms. One of the minors told police they were forced to wear Ghostface masks from the Scream movies during the encounters.
Even more disturbing, one victim claimed that Nicholas, Brittany’s husband, was aware of the abuse and even threatened to “slaughter” the boys if they reported it. Another victim’s parent told authorities that Nicholas confronted their son and told him to “wait until he was of age.”
Brittany Fortinberry is facing multiple felony charges, including child molestation, sexual misconduct with a minor, and dissemination of harmful material to minors. The alleged abuse occurred between 2023 and 2024, with some victims reportedly as young as 13 years old.
In a chilling police interview, Brittany reportedly showed no remorse, instead saying she regretted losing weight, suggesting that if she were “150 pounds heavier,” she wouldn’t have “run into any of these issues.”
