An inmate in Randolph County used another inmate’s identity to escape custody.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is still looking for the female inmate who escaped on Saturday by pretending to be another inmate who looked similar to her.
24-year-old Ellen Renay Goble was being held on five charges at the Randolph County Jail when she brazenly used the other inmate’s personal information to escape.
Jail officials were completely unaware that Goble escaped until other inmates reported that the woman had been pretending to be someone else.
The jail staff then did a second check and verified that Goble was not supposed to be released.
Sheriff Aaron Wilson has now put a team together to investigate Goble’s escape and attempt to get her back in custody.
