Ok, we have to tell you all about these innovative cabins because it’s not every day you see mirrored-glass cabins surrounded by nature.
Luxury accommodation provider Bolt Farm Treehouse announced last week the nation’s first invisible cabin accommodations located on 55 acres of land just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Bolt Farm’s new mountainside Invisible Cabins feature mirrored-glass exteriors that offer guests both whimsical vibes and a mind-blowing glamping travel experience.
In keeping with Bolt Farm’s sustainable, low-impact tourism model as well as its mission to help guests feel “immersed in nature, and surrounded by comfort,” the property’s Invisible Cabins—which aren’t technically invisible—expand this concept up a notch by “disappearing” into their surroundings both inside and out.
The mirrored-glass facades offer guests total privacy and unencumbered panoramic views of nature by day. And when night comes, don’t worry, the property has installed each cabin with blackout curtains for privacy.
For now, there are five mirrored-glass styles available, with each accommodating two guests (adults only). The cabins come with luxury furnishings, air conditioning, heated floors, kitchenettes, and bathrooms with rainfall showers.
And even though you’ll be immersed in nature, high-speed Wi-Fi is provided, as well as an in-room movie theater, a BlueTooth record player, a stovetop, a grill, a mini fridge, and a French press.
However, many will agree that the biggest perk is the attached private terrace that comes with each cabin. Oh, and guests can enjoy their own hot tub and smokeless fire pit to enjoy while relaxing to the view of Whitwell Mountain.
The cabins were designed and built by ÖÖD, a Tallinn, Estonia-based company known for creating design-forward homes that keep sustainability a top priority. Each is framed by strong, long-lasting, recyclable steel and has a low visual and environmental footprint from recyclable glass that reflects 97% of UV rays for comfort and energy efficiency.
“Nature has this magical way of melting away stress, so it’s worth the hard work of anchoring these mirrored structures atop giant rock faces and next to waterfalls,” says Tori Bolt, co-owner of Bolt Farm Treehouse. “The visually stunning architecture blends perfectly with nature, providing a fully immersive experience like no other.”
The property is known for its dome and tree houses also on the property and was previously seen on Netflix’s The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals.
The property is owned by Seth Bolt, who first built the Majestic Treehouse located in Walhalla, South Carolina, alongside his father, Larry Bolt, in 2015. “When we realized how magical the experience is and how good it is for the soul, we decided to open it to the public,” he said of the property. Seth and his wife, Tori, expanded the business after they came across the Whitwell Mountain area in May 2020.
Guests can enjoy the many activities near the mountaintop retreat, including ATV tours, horseback riding, hiking, and fishing in the Tennessee River.
“We can’t wait for guests to enjoy elevated quality time in our new mountainside Invisible Cabins – the first of their kind in the U.S.,” says Seth Bolt. “It’s about reconnecting, laughing, and losing track of time on top of the world in a magical, inspiring, socially distanced environment. This is guaranteed to lift your spirit and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.”
The Invisible Cabins are available for weekday stays with a two-night minimum and weekend stays with a three-night minimum with check-ins starting on Fridays. Nightly prices start at $395.
