A man from Iowa City was arrested on charges of reportedly engaging in self-pleasure in the presence of customers at a convenience store.
According to the local radio station 1630 KCJJ, the incident occurred in March and involved a 54-year-old man named Kenneth Kelly. Allegedly, he trailed customers at a nearby Kum & Go convenience store, making inappropriate sexual remarks before engaging in self-pleasure in front of them. Surveillance footage of the incident reportedly captures Kelly approaching the store and his victims.
A police officer conducted a search in the vicinity, presenting photographs of Kelly to several individuals nearby who allegedly identified him. Subsequently, the officer reportedly approached Kelly at his residence, where Kelly acknowledged wearing the attire resembling what was seen in the surveillance footage. However, Kelly denied any involvement.
After victims of the incident identified Kelly through a photo lineup, the police obtained a search warrant. They then confiscated clothing that was similar to the articles shown on the surveillance footage and traffic cameras.
Following this, Kelly was informed of his Miranda rights but stated that he had not been exposing himself. Instead, he claimed that he had been scratching his genitals. He was later arrested on Thursday and charged with indecent exposure.
