Murder Inc. CEO, Irv Gotti, speaks out about Drake and his new album.
TMZ recently caught up with the Murder Inc. co-founder, where he expressed his opinion regarding Drake’s new album. Gotti says he has love for Drake but wasn’t here for the “Honestly, Nevermind” album.
Gotti mentions that Drake can “do what he wants” but believes his influence could possibly bring about “the demise of Hip-Hop.” After Gotti listened to the album, he says he was inspired to find “a raw new DMX, new [Ja-Rule], new [Jay-Z] and serve n*ggas.”
“That album is not Hip-Hop,” Gotti says. “I don’t want to catch up [to that]. But, if that’s catching up, what does that mean for Hip-Hop?”
The CEO added that he’s in the process of discovering the next superstar who could challenge Drake’s influence.
“He’s too powerful and too strong. It made me feel like we need another n*gga that is as powerful and as strong who is going to stay with this thing called Hip-Hop.”
