Irv Gotti suffered a minor stroke earlier this year, his rep confirms.
The Murder Inc. CEO’s health condition came to light after Wack 100 claimed earlier this week that he spoke with a source from a recovery center who said that Gotti had suffered a stroke. He even described photos he received of Gotti using what he referred to as a “walker” (later clarified to be a cane), suggesting the producer had lost a significant amount of weight.
Wednesday, Gotti’s representative clarified that the 53-year-old music mogul, who has been battling diabetes for years, experienced a stroke over six months ago but is now recovering well at home.
“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” the rep told TMZ. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”
The music producer has previously spoken openly about his health struggles. On the “Drink Champs” podcast last year, he shared how his diabetes was affecting his body, admitting he had not been consistent with his insulin treatments and that doctors had urged him to adopt a healthier diet—something he was finding challenging at the time.
