Franky Venegas, one-half of the viral rap duo “Island Boys,” was arrested in Naples, Florida, on Sunday and is now facing gun and drug charges, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
The 23-year-old was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of an altered firearm after deputies pulled over a Corvette on Oil Well Road for failing to stop completely.
Venegas, identified as the passenger, was in the vehicle with driver Olivia Dubois, 25, whose registration was initially flagged as expired but later confirmed as valid. After a K9 unit was deployed, both occupants were asked to step out of the car for a search.
During the search, deputies found seven oxycodone pills and five additional oxycodone-acetaminophen pills on the passenger side floorboard. Venegas denied ownership of the pills but claimed he had a prescription—though he was unable to provide proof.
Authorities also discovered a pistol inside a brown handbag on the passenger side. The firearm was spray-painted blue and missing its serial number, which had been removed. Additionally, a clear plastic straw with a white powdery substance was found in the bag.
Venegas was taken to the Naples Jail Center and is now facing felony charges.
Franky and his twin brother Alex Venegas skyrocketed to fame in 2021 with their viral hit “I’m an Island Boy,” which has since amassed over 24 million YouTube views. However, Franky has a history of legal troubles, including a May 2024 arrest in Fort Lauderdale for reckless driving, where he allegedly pretended to be his brother.
