Issa Rae’s new movie The Lovebirds is being pulled from theaters and moved to Netflix because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The romantic comedy, starring Issa and Kumail Nanjiani, does not have a premiere date set just yet, but it is the first to be pulled from theaters and go straight to a streaming service.
The Paramount movie was supposed to premiere at the now-canceled SXSW Conference and Music Festival in Austin, Texas, before it went to the big screen on April 3, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Paramount Pictures also postponed the release of the highly-anticipated A Quiet Place Part II, which was set to hit theaters in March.
In the meantime, Universal Studios already went ahead and put The Invisible Man, The Hunt, and Emma on home streaming services to rent or purchase.
