Everyone’s favorite Awkward Black Girl is taking her talents to the big screen for another Will Packer Production. But this time, the “Insecure” creator will be breaking out of her comedic comfort zone.
According to Deadline, Issa Rae has officially signed on to star in Packer’s new romantic drama, “The Photograph,” alongside “Atlanta” and “Sorry To Bother You” star, LaKeith Stanfield.
Written and directed by “Everything, Everything” director, Stella Meghie, under Universal and Will Packer Productions, the film will focus on “intertwining love stories in the past and present,” Variety reports.
Although further details about the show remain unclear, the forthcoming film comes on the heels of Rae’s most recent collaboration with Packer for the Universal comedy, “Little,” which is set to hit theaters next month.
