Italy is on lockdown due to the deadly coronavirus outbreak.
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said Monday he will sign a decree that will put the entire country of 60 million people on lockdown, extending the initial lockdown of the northern Lombardy region.
The death toll in the European nation has hit 463 as of Monday and is expected to rise with 9,172 confirmed cases.
This makes Italy the country with most cases outside of China, according to CNBC.
Prime Minister Conte said people should not leave their homes for anything besides work and emergencies.
He also said that public gatherings and sporting events will be banned or suspended.
The lockdown will go into effect on Tuesday and is expected to last until April 3.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“There won’t be just a red zone,” Conte said. “Stay at home.”
